The Puna Community Development Plan Steering Committee, Planning Consultant and Hawaii County Planning Department will be presenting the Steering Committee approved plan, which will be submitted to the County for adoption by ordinance. Citizens will have an opportunity to view displays highlighting some of the major recommendations being proposed to address the issues and concerns of Puna residents throughout the plan development process. Steering Committee Members, PlanPacific, Inc. (the prime planning consultant) and Planning Department staff will be on hand to answer questions about the planning process, the plan content, the adoption process and what to expect once the CDP is adopted by the County Council.
The purpose of these four events throughout Puna is to help residents understand the planning process and the plan content so that they can more effectively participate in the adoption process by offering more informed public testimony.
All of the events will be basically identical giving Puna residents multiple opportunities to participate. Each event will include a short formal presentation at the top of each hour (1 PM, 2 PM & 3 PM). The public is invited to come at anytime during each of the 3-hour events and to stay as long as they like.
