Hawai'i County Baseline Energy Analysis: This paper presents a baseline analysis of the energy system of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is the first step in a multi-year study exploring the feasibility of a sustainable energy transition for the island. This phase of the project details the current energy system of the island and its evolution over time, the current and potential use of various renewable energy technologies, and the political and social factors that influence and constrain different energy options.
