The Community Emergency Response Team Training consists of a total of 27 hours of training, and is spread out over a period of four Saturdays.
Session 1:
- Disaster Threats
- Infrastructure, Structural and Non-structural Hazards
- Hazard Mitigation
- Community Preparedness
- Fire Suppression
Session 2:
- Treat Life-Threatening Injuries
- Disaster Medical Operations
- General Victim Assessments and Basic First Aid
- Conducting Search and Rescue Operations
Session 3:
- CERT Organization and Decision Making
- Incident Command System
- Dealing with Survivor Trauma and CERT Member Stress
- Terrorism
Session 4:
- Final Exam and Drill
